Seto no Hanayome Ova in production

The May issue of Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Wing magazine has announced that Tahiko Kimura's Seto no Hanayome romantic comedy manga will have a OVA project. The manga has already been adapted into a 26-episode television anime series which aired from April to September of last year. The Japanese title, which literally means the "bride of Seto," is a wordplay on the manga heroine's name, Japan's Seto Inland Sea, and a 1972 pop song called "Seto no Hanayome." The heroine, San Seto, is a mermaid who rescues a boy named Nagasumi Michishio from drowning. However, if a human sees a mermaid's true form, both must be killed. Nagasumi and San have to marry and keep San's mermaid form a secret to survive.
