BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is a two-dimensional fighting arcade game by Arc System Works, the staff behind the Guilty Gear series. It was released on November 19, 2008 in Japan and November 20, 2008 in the United States. It will later be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 6/25/09. It is a spiritual successor to Guilty Gear. A playable demo was presented at AOU 2008. The game is currently released for the Taito Type X2 arcade system board, with a 16:9 ratio and 768p resolution.

• Rotom, known as the Plasma Pokémon, is a small, floating Pokémon whose body consists of plasma. Rotom have unique eyes that have a dividing line across them. Even though Rotom is classified as being an Electric/Ghost type, it possesses traits that aren't usually normal for something that's supposed to be a spirit, such as the need to eat, being able to faint and somehow reproducing.
  
• Rotom themselves are shaped like lightning rods, while the blue aura of electricity around them takes the appearance of lightning. Rotom's eyes and aura of electricity will change colors when it changes form, but the aura remains the same color if it's shiny.
  
• In contrast, their base stats are far higher than those of the original Rotom, to the point of being analogous to evolutions. Rotom can creep into machines and appliances and infiltrate them. They like to pull pranks on others, or just shock them.
  
• When not possessing any object and when possessing a fan, it levitates when moving. On the other hand, when possessing a refrigerator or a microwave oven, it bounces.
