Taruga is known as a serious Hello Kitty case maker. Why so expensive? I actually spoke to a few guys who purchased the license to produce hello kitty items. They have stated that each item that is produced is taxed by Sanrio.
On top of labor costs and transportation to wholesalers across the world, prices end up much more than they originally were sought out to be sold at. But either way, these jewel pouches were designed more like a lady's purse.
I wouldn't try to fit a crystal cover case on top of the dsi, then put the entire unit into this purse. You could squeeze a regular ds lite in here if you wanted.
