Idol Master Dearly Stars is a major departure for the Idol Master series. Rather than raising the idols, you get to experience life from the perspective of the idols.
Additionally, the game focuses on a new production studio, 876 Productions, and an original cast of girls: Eri Mizutani, Ai Hidaka, and Ryou Akizuki.
Despite these differences, fans should recognize the idol master they know and love. The idols from the main series will make appearances. Additionally, many of the gameplay elements of the main series, including lessons, management, fashion check, and auditions, are featured here.
Features
- The screens suggest that players will be able to make use of Wi-Fi Connection for idol ranking competitions, item exchanges, and more. There's no word yet on if paid downloads -- one of the main features of other Idol Master games -- will somehow make it into the game.
- The game also appears to have some DSi-only features. You'll be able to use the DSi camera to scan QR codes and take delivery of special items. The main menu actually changes to show a QR Code option if you run the game from a DSi.
